Vitamin D is crucial for bone strength and may have implications on other medical conditions including osteoporosis, cancer, multiple sclerosis, and type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Our test measures the levels of vitamin D (total, 25-hydroxy D2 and D3) in the blood, utilizing either a serum sample or our dried blood spot card, allowing for easy finger stick collection.

Testing Process

Liquid Chromatography/ Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) instrumentation is used to quantitatively evaluate patient blood specimens for levels of vitamin D (total, 25-hydroxy D2 and D3). Our vitamin D test is run on this comprehensive testing platform, which offers superb separation, resolution, and identification of compounds from a complex biological mixture, yielding precise and repeatable results.

Note
Test can be ordered standalone or included as part of a Food Sensitivity Panel.
